Defending Champion, Shannyn Vogler of Moline is the 2020 Illinois State Junior Girls' Champion, shooting a 7 under par, two-day total of 137 (68-69) at Hickory Point Golf Club in Forsyth.  Shannyn is only the second in the 41 year history of this championship to win back-to-back titles. Shannyn will be a junior at Rivermont Collegiate HS.  Runner-up is Sunbi Kwon of Orland Park with a two-day, two under par total of 142.  Vogler's 68 on day-one was the low-round of the championship.

 

It was a perfect morning for golf and a field of 78 young ladies from all over the state hit the links for the 41st Illinois State Junior Girls' Championship at Hickory Point Golf Club in Forsyth. The course played at 5875 yards.

 

Other players close behind Vogler and Kwon included Mara Janess of Barrington with a 144, Stephanie Su of South Barrington and Gracie Piar of East Alton both shooting 145.

 

The championship promotes sportsmanship and camaraderie in addition to fine competition.
